Mast Cell Activation Syndrome or Disorder (MCAS or MCAD)
People who deal with Mast Cell Activation have varying degrees of symptoms and triggers. I am very blessed to have worked with good doctors who have helped me control my symptoms. Each person is different but my MCAS is triggered by my own hormones, by foods I eat, and many external forces.
According to the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology - "MCAS is a condition in which the patient experiences repeated episodes of the symptoms of anaphylaxis – allergic symptoms such as hives, swelling, low blood pressure, difficulty breathing and severe diarrhea. High levels of mast cell mediators are released during those episodes."
